What follows is a distillation, so to speak, of my Ph.D. dissertation written at Yale University in the mid-eighties (Transcendence and Immanence In Vico’s Concept of Providence) followed by a book titled Hermeneutics in the Philosophy of Giambattista Vico (1993). The revisiting, especially as regards the issue of the origins of human thought vis a vis imagination, has been prompted by some unfortunate distortions and subsuming operation of Vico’s thought  encountered since publishing the two above mentioned treatises. What follows is a distillation, so to speak, of my Ph.D. dissertation written at Yale University in the mid-eighties (Transcendence and Immanence In Vico’s Concept of Providence) followed by a book titled Hermeneutics in the Philosophy of Giambattista Vico (1993).
